1966, A Very Good Year for Pop Music: A Tribute to KFOG's "10 @10" Host, Annalisa

Hey there Readers,

Those of you reading this living in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California, I'm quite sure are familiar with a 40 minute local radio program on KFOG 104.5 FM called "10 @ 10", hosted by the lovely & talented Annalisa.

Annalisa inherited the program from it's originator and former host Dave Morey after he retired from KFOG in 2009.

Annalisa since taking over "10 @ 10" has added her own distintive touch to the program, while keeping the format basically the same as it's always been, "10 great tunes, from one great year" as the intro says.

I have been a fan of "10 @ 10" since it's inception, and rarely ever miss a show, which is broadcasted from 10:00 am until about 10:40 am, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, and again from 10:00 pm until about 10:40 pm.

Today Annalisa played 10 awesome songs from one of the most riveting years ever in popular music, 1966.

And so it is with that in mind that I put together today's playlist featuring over 100 songs from that fabulous year in which as an 11 & 12 year old, growing up in San Francisco, I had my ear glued to my little transister radio listening to the songs of the day on KFRC 610 AM & KYA 1260 AM.

44 years later these songs have stood the test of time, and are still some of the most well known songs in pop culture.

Annalisa, thank you so much for your fabulous selections on 10 @ 10, you rock!

This one's for you darlin'!

Love & cheers,

Mick "Professor Phil Moore, Jr." Flaire

Hey there Readers,

To celebrate the start of this new decade, I put together a playlist from 2 decades ago, from the year 1990.

It's pretty amazing some of the memories that came flooding back as I listened to these songs again.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did compiling them.

Here's your musical look back at 1990!

Love & cheers,

Mick

Hey there readers,

I'd like to share with you this set of reggae influenced pop tunes that I played for the fans of Rebelution/Soja/Zion-I, up in the Poster Room Lounge @ The Fillmore in San Francisco, on Wednesday January 20th, 2010 as "Professor Phil Moore, Jr.", for my mythical radio program "Just for the Record", broadcasted live on my imaginary radio station "KBGP, 98.7 FM, in San Francisco".

Who knows, maybe someday it will become a reality...

Enjoy!

Happy 81st Birthday to the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I'd like to take this time today to say hello to all of the people who have visited my blog since it's inception 9 months ago, on April 10th, 2009.
One of the coolest things on my blog is the "flag counter", which shows the visits from viewers living in countries all around the world.
To know that my blog is being viewed globally is quite a thrill for me.
As of today, Friday January 15th, 2010 "Through My Eyes" has been visited by people in 56 different countries, since I added the flag counter on October 24, 2009.
I want to wish every single one of you a happy, healthy, & prosperous new year in 2010!

Today also would have been the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King's 81st birthday, which will be officially celebrated as a national holiday here in the United States this coming Monday, January 18th, 2010.

I have put together a playlist of 200 songs with the common theme of love, peace, & happiness in honor of Dr. King's tireless efforts of trying to make this world a better place for people of all colors, religions, and nationalities, not just in America, but around the world.

Seeing all these beautiful flags on my blog page has really led me to start thinking more globally.

And so with that I leave you with these songs of inspiration!

Love & cheers,

Mick
